Piaget & Weil (1951) hypothesized that as children progress through the three stages their ideas about places move from an extreme form of egocentrism to a nonegocentric form of conceptualization. At the first stage, children lack the requisite decentra-tion to conceive of their town as enclosed in a larg-er whole. A different approach is presented by the Cognitive-Developmental Theory originally developed by Piaget and Weil (1951) and applied to the prejudice field by Aboud (1988), Bigler and Liben (2006) among others. For e xample, the concept “Jean Piaget (1952) proposed that people go through various stages in learning how to think as they develop from infancy into adulthood (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2010, p.111). Piaget’s theory of cognitive development is made up of different stages that people must develop in order to for their cognitive and thinking abilities to develop. In his book “The Child’s Conception of World”, 1951, Piaget gives examples about irreversibility.
